Orthopaedic Footwear & Devices

To help control problems and prevent conditions from deteriorating. Conditions may include: Bunions, Flat feet, collapsed arches, hammer toes, Diabetic feet, arthritis, problems as a result from accidents, birth defects, back problems, knee problems and aching feet.

Custom Buildups – Clients can bring or post an off the shelf jogger/slipper/workboot or shoe to be accessed for buildup requirements. Generally I carefully remove existing sole & add required buildup & then replace sole – see pics

Bespoke Boots & Shoes

Boots or shoes that fit you perfectly and look great can make a huge difference to your every day living. I make a personalised appointment with my clients and discuss specific needs, measurements and styles to create the perfect shoe just for you. Odd shapes and sizes in feet are very common. Clients may have very large or wide feet, tiny or slender feet, different sized feet or may just require something different made for comfort and support.

KIWI - 2016

I was delighted to work with Australian Jockey Boots as our Custom Boot Supplier for our production of Kiwi, a local production about horse racing 1977- 1983. They delivered exactly what we were after. Every pair of jockey boots ordered were delivered on time.
They worked around our budget, following our references (Photos), were flexible and offered the different type of leather, fabrics, buckle to use to give an authentic product.

Thanks to Australian Jockey Boots, our 1980's jockey totally looked the part. Because most of the jockey boots are bespoke, it's almost impossible to hire them (sizes are very specific).

Phillip is a very talented Boot Maker. He made about 10 vintage custom jockeys boots for us and they were well made.

Alterations & Repairs

I provide a full range of alterations and repairs. When you appreciate quality shoes they deserve to be repaired by quality tradespeople. At Barker Footwear I repair boots, shoes, bags and belts.

Alterations and adaptations may help with those that may have medical footwear problems.
